Simple and Focused Actions You Can Take to Walk into Your Purpose

The new year brings possibilities for a new mindset, new opportunities, new decisions, new goals, and new plans. Letting go of some things and picking up others is a good place to start.

My word for 2022 is INTENTION, and I have a few intentions for this year.

  • I intend to do more this year than last year.

  • I intend to be a better version of myself this year than last.

  • I plan to read more this year.

  • I hold this intention dear to my heart, to remain in my spiritual place more this year than last year.

  • I plan to continue building my business with intended purpose.

Intention has several meanings, and I'd like to fulfill them as much as possible in 2022. As I highlight each of these intentions, I invite you to join me in setting your intentions for this year.

  1. Intention is an intended aim, plan, or purpose.

My business serves specific purposes, and my focus is on each of those purposes to hit my target. Just as the eagle effortlessly soars through the sky, riding the warm air, I plan to use the momentum built last year to reach my goals this year.

Building the life of my dreams for the next half of my life is a significant focus for me. A couple of years ago, I was asked how many years I plan to live, and my response was until I'm at least 100. I was reminded that I have many years to go, and my intention to build the life I desire was rebirth with that thought.

What is it that you desire for your life? Are you willing to take action and intently focus on building that life? Let me tell you, it won't happen unless you do the work. We rely on God to give us vision and help us know our purpose, but He is not coming down to earth to do the work for us. He's gifted you and me with extraordinary abilities. Let's get to work to make our dreams a reality.

  2. Another way of looking at it is a person's good intentions about something.

You and I get to make decisions. You'll find that I talk about choices and decisions often. It's because God gave us free choice and free will, and He does not force us to do anything. We get to decide whether we will do what's right. It's in our best interest for our lives, our families, our businesses, and many other areas of our lives to make the best choice.

Doing what's right should be easy; unfortunately, that's not always the case. We have this nasty thing called our "flesh" or, put another way, "our will." You know the story of Adam and Eve in the Garden of Eden, "the serpent made me do it." The comedian, Flip Wilson, used to say, "The devil made me do it." It was hilarious listening to Flip Wilson say it, but it's not fun when we're paying the consequences of these poor decisions.

In my intentions for the next 12 months, I want to be a better version of myself. Doing what's right or making the best choices is a part of that. Because sometimes neither option is terrible, I say make the best choice of the ones put in front of you.

Can you relate to having good intentions about something? Whether that's for your life, business, spiritual life, family, or even your career. Let your good intentions come full circle to completion this year.

  3. Intention in medicine is the healing process of a wound.

Finally, HEAL!! If you've experienced any trauma, abuse, hurts, let downs or disappointments, and you're still dealing with it, it's up to you to heal. Healing takes time, and sometimes we need help. Seek the help you need. I did and may even decide to go another round.

Allow the process to complete. It's one thing to start down the path of healing, then get to a place where it's too difficult to work through. But if you want to be free to live your best life, set the intention to heal. You don't have to wait until some future date. Start now. Take the necessary actions.

Live your best life freely.

Final Reflections

There's greatness waiting for you. I pray that you will set your intention to prepare for it, embrace it, walk into it, and be it.

God has more in store for you than you can think or ask and even more than what you can imagine.

Now unto Him that is able to do exceeding abundantly above all that we ask or think, according to the power that works in us.

Ephesians 3:20

Set your intentions to

  • Aim

  • Set good intentions

  • Heal

This year, let's be about our Father's business and our business, personally, professionally, and spiritually.
